Michael Adams, Ph.D., Assistant Professor
of Pharmacology, Campbell University School of Pharmacy.
Dr. Adams was a fellow in the Laboratory of Molecular Immunology
under the mentorship of
Dr. Lance Pohl from 2003-2005. His
project involved mechanisms of drug-induced liver toxicity. He
was a member of the Fellows Advisory Committee.
Thomas Cimato, M.D.,
Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Division of Cardiovascular
Medicine, University of Buffalo. Dr. Cimato was a Fellow in the
Cardiology Branch under the mentorship of Dr. Elizabeth Nabel from
2002-2007. His project involved stem cells in

Peiman
Hematti, M.D., Assistant Professor of Medicine (Hematology),
University of Wisconsin. Dr. Hematti was a Fellow in the

Cynthia Ju, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Immunology and
Toxicology, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of
Colorado. Dr. Ju was a Visiting Fellow in the Laboratory of
Molecular Immunology under the mentorship of Dr. Lance Pohl from
1999-2002. Her research was in the area of immunotoxicology.

Joseph Larkin, Ph.D.,
Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Bloomsburg
University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Larkin was a Predoctoral Fellow
at the University of Georgia under the mentorship of

Brooks in the Laboratory of Computational Biology from 2004-2006.
His research was on electronic structure and reaction pathway
modeling.
Shyama Masilamani, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Division
of Nephrology, Department of Internal Medicine, Medical College
of Virginia. Dr. Masilamani was a Fellow in the Laboratory
of Kidney and Electrolyte Metabolism under the mentorship of

Mark Knepper from 1997-2004. Her research involved understanding

Edward Mills, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Pharmacology,
University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Mills was a Fellow in the
Cardiovascular Branch under the mentorship of

Toren Finkel from 1997-2004. His research involved a molecular
approach to understanding the basis of hyperthermia caused by Ecstasy.
Jackob
Moskovitz, Ph.D.,
Assistant Professor of Pharmacology and Toxicology, University
of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas.. Dr. Moskovitz was a Fellow
in the Laboratory of Biochemistry under the mentorship of
Dr. Earl Stadtman from 1997-2003. His project was understanding
how methionine and methionine sulfoxide can protect cells from oxidative
damage.
Ivan Rosas, M.D., Assistant Professor of Medicine,
University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Rosas was a Clinical Fellow
in the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Branch from 1997-2005.
His project involved studies of pulmonary fibrosis. He was a
member of the Fellows Advisory Committee.
Smita Sampath, Ph.D.,
Assistant Professor. Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Yale University. Dr.
Sampath was a Fellow
in the Laboratory of Cardiac Energetics under the mentorship of
Dr. Eliot McVeigh from 2004-2007. Her project was to
develop methods for real-time cardiac MRI imaging. She was a
member of the Fellows Advisory Committee.
Bipin Savani, M.D., Assistant Professor of Medicine (Hematology-Oncology),
Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Dr. Savani was a Fellow in the
Hematology Branch under the mentorship of
Dr. John Barrett from
2003-2007. His project was involved with modeling human hematopoietic

George Stan, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Chemistry,

Qize Wei,
Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Biology, Kansas State University,
Manhattan, Kansas. Dr. Wei was a fellow in the Laboratory
of Cardiac Energetics under the mentorship of

Robert Adelstein from 1997-2004. His research involved
understanding the transcriptional regulation of muscle development.
