Medical Imaging Section
Elliot McVeigh, PhD, Principal Investigator
The Medical Imaging Section was established in 1999 as a part of the Laboratory of Cardiac Energetics. The scientists associated with the lab are interested in the development of new imaging techniques and advanced applications of existing techniques to solve problems in medicine and biology. Imaging the heart and cardiovascular system with magnetic resonance presents many challenges. The laboratory consists of computer programmers, magnetic resonance physicists, chemists and biologists working together on issues such as bio-compatibility, magnetic resonance physics, patient monitoring, image analysis, computer visualization, and interventional procedures.
