Research in the Developmental Neurobiology Section is concerned with understanding the mechanisms that control axonal growth and pathfinding, both during neural development and in order to stimulate regeneration after injury to the brain or spinal cord.  Current activities are focused on the role of astrocytes in either stimulating or inhibiting axonal growth.
